Mavrica (meaning rainbow in English) was established as a state-owned commercial company based in Ljubljana in 1951. It was registered for trading in paints, varnishes, chemicals, paintbrushes and requisites for plastering and painting.
In 1991 Mavrica expanded into the wholesale business and this developed so that today it is one of the largest wholesalers of paints, varnishes, glue and plastering requisites in Slovenia.
On December 2nd 1996 the company was transformed into a stockholding company Mavrica, Joint-stock company.
The company’s strategy was always development orientated, with the opening of new shops and expanding wholesale business. At present it has 16 of its own shops, one franchised shop and a warehouse distribution centre at Vrhnika. In the last ten years the number of employees has almost doubled, so that today the company employs 135 people. In February 2011 was in line with the owner, changed the company name in HGtrade d.o.o.. At the same time we became a distributor of DIY brands Belinka, Color, Chromoden and Helios in Slovenia.
Mavrica shops are located in Ljubljana (5), Celje, Logatec, Maribor, Novo mesto, Slovenska Bistrica, Jesenice, Vrhnika, Murska Sobota, Lesce and Ilirska Bistrica. All shops are equipped with computers and the warehouse, purchased in 1995, is also computer supported.

Company operates as a company trading in consumer products. Its sales range comprises paints, varnishes, coatings, thinners, solvents, all types of glue, all types of cleaners, household requisites, personal hygiene products, etc.In addition to the basic sales range, the shops have an additional sales programme adapted to the needs of customers in each sales region. The programme is also adapted to the size of shop and its storage capacity. Such additional sales products are floor coverings, parquet, bathroom ceramics, building material, insulation material and similar.
